Tokyu Plaza Shibuya - Developing a Shibuya That Appeals to Adults
(Shibuya, Tokyo)
In December 2019, Tokyu Plaza Shibuya opened as a commercial facility inside SHIBUYA FUKURAS, situated in front of the West Exit of Shibuya Station. The old Tokyu Plaza Shibuya, the predecessor to the current facility that started in the Shibuya Tokyu Building, was sorely missed when it shut its doors in March 2015, closing the curtains on a history that spanned 49 years. After a large-scale redevelopment, the new Tokyu Plaza Shibuya reemerged at the same site, promoting the concept of "developing a Shibuya that appeals to adults." As we learn how aging enriches us and start to value genuine articles and the true value of things, we mustn't forget our playful spirit. Tokyu Plaza Shibuya takes aim at these urban adults that have cultivated strong sensibilities, and proposes a new way to spend time in Shibuya.

Honey Grown in Minamiaso: Initiative to Support Reconstruction from the Kumamoto Earthquakes
(Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture)
The Aso Tokyu Golf Club, which opened in 1976, suffered severe damage in the Kumamoto earthquakes that struck in April 2016, including the complete loss of its club house. Over the course of reconstruction efforts, we repurposed the unused land of the former club house site as a flower garden, and launched a project to produce honey together with apiaries also affected by the disaster. Local children took part in the project from the beginning with the planting of seeds, and after more than six months of work the original honey brand "asohachi" was completed. Tokyu Fudosan Holdings is working to support reconstruction together with local residents through a range of regional activities.
