I would now like to move on and describe the Facility Operations segment.
Results in this segment in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011 are as follows: operating revenue fell ¥0.5 billion from the previous year, to ¥57.9 billion, while operating income decreased ¥0.5 billion year on year, to ¥0.9 billion.
Sales increased in our membership resort hotel Harvest Club, an Oasis sports club and senior housing, thanks to the contributions made by new facilities. However, as the Great East Japan Earthquake hit our ski resorts in Fukushima and Tochigi prefectures, as well as golf courses in the north Kanto region and other facilities, resulting in a suspension of operations and other disruptions, the segment recorded lower sales and profits.
The impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake resulted in a decline of ¥1.4 billion in operating revenue and a fall of ¥1.1 billion in operating income.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012, which is shown in the lower column, we project operating revenue of ¥60.1 billion, up ¥2.1 billion from the previous year, and operating income of ¥0.3 billion, down ¥0.6 billion year on year.
While we expect continued contributions from the sales of new senior housing facilities, we will take into account a fall of ¥2.8 billion in operating revenue, and a decline of ¥2.1 billion in operating income, reflecting the effects of the Great East Japan Earthquake. As result, we anticipate an operating income of ¥0.3 billion, down ¥0.6 billion year on year. |
