Development of Business to Address Social Issues

Let me describe some of the Group’s operations that will be relevant to society after the spread of the coronavirus ends.

The Group has accurately identified social issues that have changed with the times and has created unique value, taking advantage of its strengths.

The spread of the coronavirus is changing traditional lifestyles and workstyles dramatically. I would like to describe six operations that will be relevant to society after the spread of the coronavirus ends. Look at the picture in the upper left corner. We are working to create a smart city at Tokyo PortCity Takeshiba.

At the property, which will open in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021, we will gather and analyze data on the flows of people and environmental data to create a comfortable environment and manage buildings efficiently.

Let’s move on to the renewable energy business.
Revenue in this business is generated from the sale of electricity, part of the infrastructure supporting life, and we expect stable revenue that will be unaffected by economic fluctuations.

Next is the logistics facilities business.
Demand for logistics facilities is increasing as e-commerce is developing. Meanwhile, advanced logistics facilities account for a small percentage of all logistics facilities. Many logistics facilities are old.
We believe that the needs for the development of logistics facilities using the Group’s expertise, which it has developed in other business fields, will increase.

The picture in the lower left corner shows a business airport.
The business airport business started to provide new forms of workplaces for all business people as workplaces and workstyles are changing dramatically and diversifying in tandem with the evolution of mobile environments.
Currently, we have 12 business airports in Tokyo, including those that are planned to open.

Next is an example of initiatives at condominiums.
The picture shows an atelier, which is a private space in a garden at BRANZ City Azamino.
An atelier is a space separated from the other private space of a condominium unit. It is placed at the other end of a private garden. An atelier enables you to create a private environment suitable for teleworking.

Lastly, I will describe WEBGYM, a service provided by Tokyu Sports Oasis.
WEBGYM enables users to attend exercise classes on video via apps and to maintain physical fitness or to eliminate health concerns by working out at home even if going out is restricted.

Those operations are already commercialized. The Group will continue to create value, leveraging its wide range of business fields and many points of contact with customers.
