Major projects currently underway in the Wellness business segment include the following:
Tokyu Stay currently operates 17 hotels with a total of 2,445 guest rooms in Tokyo.
New openings expected in FY2017 including Tokyu Stay Kyoto Ryogaemachi Dori and Tokyu Stay Sengakuji. We expect to launch further facilities in Sapporo, Hakata and Kyoto in and after FY2018. We will eventually expand the facilities to around 30 hotels with around 4,400 guest rooms in total by FY2020.
We will accelerate new openings in the central area of Tokyo and major hub cities across Japan, where there is consistent demand from business travellers and inbound tourists.
We will open Tokyu Harvestclub Karuizawa & VIALA near Lake Shiozawa in Minami Karuizawa in FY2018. Its memberships have become very popular, with more than 50% already sold.
We will also seek to expand the non-membership resort hotel business. In addition to the acquisition of Kyu Karuizawa Hotel in March, we have launched construction work that is making consistent progress for Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa, which is scheduled to open in FY2018.
